What I Offer
Why Therapy?
Deciding whether to start therapy can bring up all kinds of questions:
Do I really need this?
Are my struggles even worth talking about?
What if it feels too vulnerable?
These hesitations are completely normal and also valuable — often, they point to exactly why therapy can be helpful. It’s natural to feel unsure, self-conscious, or even a little afraid when considering this step. Therapy asks us to slow down and make space for parts of ourselves that may have been ignored, dismissed, or held in the background for a long time. That can feel unfamiliar — even scary.
Whether this is your first time exploring therapy or you’re returning to it, my hope is that you feel supported, respected, and met with care in our work together. If you’re feeling curious, hesitant, or somewhere in between, you’re invited to reach out — I’d be glad to connect with you.
What type of therapy approach?
I use three main therapeutic approaches in an integrated way, meaning it is more tailored towards the needs of each individual having therapy. These are:
Psychodynamic
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Person-Centred Counselling
Psychodynamic tends to involve more looking into your past, working with images or even dreams. It’s about exploration and going deeper. CBT is more rooted in the here and now, looking at patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviours and how they interlink. If you’re someone who likes worksheets and structured tasks to complete outside of sessions, this may be the one for you. Person-centred is about placing the client at the centre of the picture, and prioritising your journey at your own pace. For lasting healing to happen, it has to come from you – and a Person-Centred approach is focussed on giving maximum opportunity for the client’s own process.
Working integratively with these approaches means that different elements can be combined using two or all three styles woven together which can be a lot more effective than just one on its own.
What to Expect
01.
Initial Phone Call
We’ll start with a brief phone or Zoom conversation so I can get a sense of what kind of support you’re looking for and you can ask any questions you may be wondering about how it would work for you. If it feels like a good fit, we’ll schedule your first session — online or in person.
02.
First Few Sessions
These sessions are about getting to know you — your story, your goals, and what brings you here. Whether you’re hoping to better manage stress, improve relationships, or understand long-standing patterns, we’ll begin exploring this together in a way that feels safe and grounded.
03.
Your Ongoing Therapy Journey
Therapy looks different for everyone. Some people come for a few sessions to work through something specific, others stay longer for deeper, ongoing support. We’ll talk openly about what feels right for you and adjust along the way.
Online or in person?
In-Person ‘Walk-and-Talk’ Sessions
If you prefer the idea of meeting face to face, I offer ‘walk and talk’ sessions as well. Just like it sounds, these sessions are an opportunity to meet outside and walk around a park so you can be in nature while having a session.
Virtual Therapy
Online weekly 60-minute sessions via Zoom. It’s important that you are able to secure a private space for yourself regularly for the session.
